Minesto, a Swedish-based tidal energy developer, has made new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and new Chief Operating Officer (COO) appointments.

Fredrik Ahlström will be taking on the role of CFO, and will be tasked with leading the company’s financial planning and capitalization during the development and commercialization of business, and will also be responsible for the company’s financial administration and reporting.

Ahlström said: “To be part of and contribute to how this completely new approach to renewable energy is developed, implemented and becomes cost effective, feels extremely inspiring. I am very proud to become a member of this dynamic and entrepreneurial team.”

Charlotta Ekman, Minesto’s new COO, has been CFO at Minesto since 2008. She has several years of experience from leading positions at high-tech ventures in the area of renewables, Minesto’s press release reads.

“I am very enthusiastic about continuing my work at Minesto in my new role as COO,” Ekman said. “I look forward to tackle and manage the challenges in the company’s continued journey.”

To remind, earlier this year, Minesto was awarded €13 mln from the European Regional Development Fund for the installation of the first commercial scale 500 kW Deep Green tidal power plant planned for summer 2017.

It will be located in Holyhead Deep, off Holyhead Island in Wales.
