Shell hires Polarcus for seismic shoot offshore Myanmar

Seismic contractor Polarcus has received a Letter of Award from Shell Myanmar Energy PTE Ltd for a 3D marine seismic project offshore Myanmar. Seismic contractor Polarcus has received a Letter of Award from Shell Myanmar Energy PTE Ltd for a 3D marine seismic project offshore Myanmar.

According to Polarcus, the seismic survey project is expected to start in Q4 2015.

Commenting on this latest award, Duncan Eley , COO Polarcus, said: “With this award from a returning customer, the Company continues to strengthen an already strong backlog and capture significant market share in a challenging business environment.”

Polarcus did not say which vessel would be used for the project. This is the company’s third seismic deal in a little more than a fortnight. The company last week said it had won a seismic survey contract in Brazil , while, on August 25, it completed a sale of seismic data to Norway’s TGS.
