The U.S. imports of liquefied natural gas reached 45.5 Bcf in the January-June period, according to the U.S. Department of Energy data.
Most of the LNG came from Trinidad’s Point Fortin facility (38.1 Bcf), while the rest was sourced from Yemen’s Balhaf plant, according to the data.
Seventeen cargoes of the chilled gas in total docked at five U.S. terminals in the period.
The Everett LNG terminal received ten cargoes in the first six months of this year. Three LNG tankers called at the Elba Island terminal, Sabine Pass received two cargoes while Northeast Gateway and the Cove Point terminal received one cargo each.
Two LNG cargoes were re-exported from the Freeport terminal in Texas to Brazil in the January-June period, the data said.
