The Panama Canal Expansion project continues to gain momentum as it moves closer to completion.

In August, while testing of the new locks continued, the three dams adjacent to the Pacific-facing Cocoli Locks were completed.

These dams are essential to the completion of the new locks project since the water level in the navigational channel of the expanded canal will increase by nine meters.

Also, works are progressing on the removal of the strip of land separating the new Cocolí Locks from the Pacific Ocean and Agua Clara locks from the Atlantic.

The process of removing the plug is culmination of the Access Channel works.

Latest video released by the Panama Canal shows aerial view of Agua Clara Locks in the Atlantic side.
