GE Oil & Gas has unveiled what it claims its most efficient aeroderivative gas turbine to date, the LM6000-PF+.
According to GE, the upgraded turbine can be used for both floating LNG or land-based LNG applications.
“ Bringing the LM6000-PF+ to the gas market is a great opportunity for GE Oil & Gas and the operators who can benefit from its increased reliability and efficiency in their LNG operations , “ said Luca Maria Rossi, General Manager for Turbomachinery Solutions Product Management, GE Oil & Gas.
The LM6000 was first introduced in the early 1990s and has since been improved continuously to meet industry and customer demands, GE said.
As with all LM6000 models, the PF+ gas turbine is derived from GE’s Aviation engine heritage, the CF6 jet engine, which powers most aircrafts worldwide, it added.
