TOTE, the owner of the world’s first LNG-powered containerships revealed its operating companies, Sea Star Line and Totem Ocean Trailer Express will be known as TOTE Maritime.
Both companies provide critical infrastructure and cargo to Alaska and Puerto Rico.
Additionally, both companies are switching their vessels to run on natural gas. Totem Ocean will begin the conversion of its first ship to natural gas this fall, TOTE revealed in a statement.
The company’s second LNG-powered Marlin class containership Perla del Caribe was recently launched at General Dynamics NASSCO. Together with the Isla Bella it will operate between Jacksonville, Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
