Antrim Energy Inc., an international oil and gas exploration company, has completed its four well abandonment program in the United Kingdom Central North Sea.

Under the abandonment program, Antrim permanently abandoned three suspended wells on the Fyne Licence (P077, Block 21/28a) and one suspended well on the Erne Licence (P1875, Block 21/29d).

Antrim has 100% interest in the Fyne licence and is the operator of the Erne licence with 50% interest, while Premier Oil has other 50% interest in this licence.

The Fyne Field lies approximately 10 km southeast of the Guillemot West and Guillemot NW fields, and approximately 15 km south of the Pict and Saxon fields.

In an announcement published on Monday, Antrim said that the final net cost of the abandonment program to Antrim is anticipated to be in line with previous estimates that amount to £1.80 million ($2.8M) net cost to Antrim.

To remind, Antrim in June entered into a contract with Offshore Installation Services (OIS) to plug its four suspended wells. United Kingdom Seaward Licences require licensees to permanently abandon all suspended wells prior to licence expiry.
