Volta River Authority of Ghana is looking to pen a deal for the supply of liquefied natural gas in order to meet the projected growth of demand from the power supply sector.
According to VRA’s Chairman Lee Ocran , the company has made gas supply its priority.
Ocran added that the company is exploring the possibility of securing additional gas supplies with potential suppliers in Nigeria and have initiated a number of gas supply agreements.
VRA is considering a proposal from Quantum Power Ghana Gas to deliver regasified LNG to its plants in Tema, the company revealed in a statement.
The gas would be delivered to a floating storage and regasification unit that would feed the power plants through a pipeline.
