Weeks Marine Inc. of Covington, LA, has just won a $6.5 million dredging deal in Texas.
The contract is for maintenance dredging of the Brazos Island Harbor jetty channel and option for Brazos Island Harbor entrance channel.
Work will be performed at San Padre Island, Texas, with an estimated completion date of February 12, 2016.
The Brazos Island Harbor deep draft navigation project consists of a 42-ft deep by 300-ft wide by approximately 23 miles long channel; extending from the Gulf of Mexico to the Port of Brownsville and Port Isabel. A jettied entrance channel with a project depth of 44-ft connects to the main channel with a 42-ft project depth.
