Ingeteam Power Technology S.A. is conducting two power conversion projects in the wind energy sector.

Within the project Offshore medium voltage for multimegawatts solutions based on modules up to 4.5MW (Offshore 4.5MW Module) , Ingeteam is working on the development of medium voltage energy conversion systems for a wide range of output power, between 3MW and 13.5MW, providing the maximum efficiency, availability, scalability and adaptability according to the offshore wind power market needs.

The project New technologies “Full-Conversion” to increase energy density and power-cost ratio in offshore wind generation (High Efficient FC) involves developing a power conversion system scalable and modular based on conversion units of 4MW to 4.5MW for Full Converter (FC) grid connections, minimizing the necessary investment cost for offshore wind power in low voltage (LV) up to 9MW, ensuring the quality of the energy injected to the grid.

During the research and design of combination of converter topologies, Ingeteam will collaborate with the Norway Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
