Indonesia’s Pertamina will receive around 20 cargoes of liquefied natural gas to its Arun import facility over the course of the next year.
Surkani Manan, Planning and Production Manager at Pertamina’s unit, PT Perta Arun Gas, said LNG will be sourced from the domestic market, Platts reports.
The utilization rates are also expected to climb up to 50% from the current 25% as the pipeline network around the facility reaches completion.
Manan added that the company expects to receive 12 cargoes by the end of this year. Seven cargoes have already been discharged at the facility.
The supply comes mostly from the Tangguh LNG facility as part of a long-term contract between BP and Perusahaan Listrik Negara.
Arun LNG, world’s first export facility that has been converted to an import terminal, received its commissioning cargo on February 19 from BP’s Tangguh project.
