A new North-east engineering company, Engineering Solutions and Rental (ESR), has been established by Fabritech UK’s managing director, Stuart Mackie, and engineering manager, Innes Smith, to meet demand from clients in the energy, subsea and renewable sectors.

ESR directors Mackie and Smith, have invested over half a million pounds in CNC machinery, tooling and software in order to set-up the specialist firm which will be based within Fabritech’s headquarters at the Insch Business Park in Aberdeenshire.

The company has been established in order to specialise in providing engineering solutions, allowing manufacturing and fabrication firm, Fabritech UK, to continue to focus on fabrication contracts for major operators in the oil and gas industry.

According to the company, ESR will offer a range of in-house design, engineering services and project management to the subsea, drilling and renewables sectors.

The firm also employs CNC machinists and two apprentices, with plans in place to add to the specialist team by the end of the year.

ESR director, Stuart Mackie , said: “We made the decision to diversify the services of Fabritech by opening an engineering firm to allow each company to focus solely on their specialisms in fabrication and engineering.

“ESR will initially work from Fabritech’s headquarters, but we plan to move to purpose built premises in Insch Business Park in 2016, which will result in an increase in our workforce and further investment in new equipment.”
