The United States Federal Energy Regulatory Commission updated on the review progress for the Downeast LNG project to be located at Robbinston, Maine.
FERC said in its filing that it is in the process of reviewing and commenting on the information provided in Downeast LNG’s draft resource reports.
The commission also revealed that Downeast LNG intends to file its formal application and final resource reports for the project in early 2016.
Downeast LNG plans to construct and operate an LNG liquefaction project in the Town of Robbinston, Maine, that will be capable of liquefying an average of approximately 450 mmcfd natural gas or 3 million tons of LNG per year. The project will also have the capacity to regasify up to 100 mmcfd.
The liquefied natural gas will be stored in two full containment LNG storage tanks with a capacity of 160,000 cbm, and Downeast LNG predicts up to 60 ships to load at the facility each year.
