Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with New Mangalore Port Trust to study the feasibility of setting up an LNG regasification terminal, at Mangalore.
The MOU facilitates MRPL, to initiate feasibility and other associated studies, to identify the most suitable location for the facility, and to consider the option of setting up an LNG Terminal/ Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU).
The LNG terminal, once set up will bring gas to the entire region that is seeking to replace naphtha as the industry’s fuel.
