Japan’s price of spot liquefied natural gas contracted in September averaged US$7.4 per mmBtu on DES basis.
This is a drop from the US$8.1 per mmBtu for spot LNG contracted in August, the information from Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) reveals.
The average price of spot LNG imported into Japan that arrived in September was at US$7.7 per mmBtu, the data shows, which remained on the same level as the previous month.
Only spot LNG cargoes are taken into account in this assessments, excluding short, medium and long-term contract cargoes, as well as those linked to a particular price index.
