According to Pays de la Loire, this joint platform will host numerous players from the marine sector, and is expected to boost collaborative R&D projects.

The new 17,000 m² Technocampus Ocean building, located in Nantes’ suburb of Bougenais, will house the research projects working on technological challenges in domains such as marine metal structures, manufacturing, metallurgy, assembly procedures, welding, and the use of virtual reality.

From the moment of opening the platform will house teams from Alstom, DCNS, STX, ACB, Dassault Systemes, and Hydrocéan, as well as researchers from CEA Tech, the École Centrale de Nantes, the École nationale supérieure maritime, Jules Verne IRT, and ICAM and representatives of the EMC2 competitivity cluster.

The cost of the project amounted to €47 M, and it was overseen by the regional agency – Pays de la Loire Territoires d’Innovation.
