The Oregon Department of Energy issued a proposed order to the Energy Facility Siting Council to grant the site certificate, allowing the siting, construction and operation of the South Dunes gas-fired power plant in Coos County.
The 420 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant will provide electricity to the adjacent Jordan Cove LNG terminal, Oregon Department of Energy said in its filing.
The steam produced by the facility’s heat recovery steam generators would also be provided to the LNG terminal’s gas conditioning systems, acting as a cogeneration terminal.
Jordan Cove LNG terminal’s facilities will consist of two 160,000 cbm full containment storage tanks, single LNG marine berth and have a liquefaction capacity of 6 mtpa.
