The Environment Agency recently held two final public exhibitions on Shoreham Adur tidal walls scheme.

The scheme that will reduce the risk of flooding to Shoreham-by-Sea and Lancing is being developed jointly by Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Adur District Council, West Sussex County Council and the Environment Agency.

It will provide protection for extreme events with 0.33% probability (1 in 300 year) of occurring in one year, allowing for 50 years of sea level rise.

During the exhibitions, the final designs were displayed, including a 3D visualization of the finished defenses and how they fit into the landscape.

Construction of the extensive improvements to the flood defenses will begin in spring 2016.
