Wison Offshore & Marine held a keel-laying ceremony for the Exmar FSRU, a barged based floating LNG regasification unit, in the company’s dry-dock in Nantong, China.

Under the agreement for the regasification unit, Wison Offshore & Marine will provide Exmar the turnkey engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) solution for the project.

It is the first time for a Chinese company to undertake a FSRU project under an EPCIC contract, Wison said on Wednesday.

The Exmar FSRU, a non-propelled barge, will be equipped with two regasification plants of 400 MMSCFD and 200 MMSCFD regasification capacity respectively.

Two SPB cargo tanks with each capacity of 13,160 cbm will be installed in the hull for LNG storage. An accommodation block suitable for 28 people will be also installed on the barge.
