Texas LNG submitted a Draft Resource report 1 with the United States Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
The company submitted a resource report as part of the application for authorization to site, construct, and operate natural gas liquefaction and export facilities on the Brownsville Ship Channel.
According to the filing the Resource Report 1 provides a description of the proposed project and its purpose and need from a local, regional, national, and global perspective.
The LNG project will be developed as a tolling facility to process treated pipeline natural gas sourced from the U.S. natural gas pipeline network into LNG for export to FTA and non-FTA markets.
In the initial phase the project will have a capacity to produce up to 2 million tons per annum of LNG, while Phase 2, to be developed at a later date, will increase the capacity by additional 2.
Each phase will include a single liquefaction train and a single containment storage tank with a capacity of 210,000 cubic meters.
The project was recently granted a long-term, multi-contract authorization to export liquefied natural gas to free trade agreement countries by the U.S. Department of Energy.
