The world’s largest LNG producer, Qatargas delivered about 2,300 LNG cargoes to Japan since 1997, Qatar Petroleum CEO Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi said.

“ Since 1997 – the year of the first Qatari LNG shipment to Japan, Qatargas delivered around 2,300 LNG cargoes to our Japanese customers ,” Al-Kaabi said at an annual reception hosted by Qatargas for Japanese partners, a statement by Qatar Petroleum reveals.

According to the statement, Al-Kaabi just returned from a working visit to Japan where he was accompanied by Khalid bin Khalifa Al-Thani, CEO of Qatargas and senior officials from QP and QG.

During the visit, he held talks with several senior executives of major Japanese corporations.

Discussions with Japanese LNG buyers focused on increasing Qatari LNG exports to Japan, and expanding cooperation in other areas of mutual interest, the statement added.
