Antam selects LNG supplier for power plant

PT Antam said it has selected PGN LNG Indonesia, a Perusahaan Gas Negara unit, to supply liquefied natural gas to Antam’s ferronickel plant in Pomalaa.

Mining company PT Antam said it has selected PGN LNG Indonesia, a Perusahaan Gas Negara unit, to supply liquefied natural gas to its ferronickel plant in Pomalaa.

Antam intends to use the regasified LNG as an energy source of the power plant for ferronickel processing, a statement by the company reveals.

The Jakarta-based company said it currently operates a 8×17 MW dual fired power plant which runs on heavy fuel oil. It is in the process of retrofitting the plant to run on gas.
