Santos of Australia said on Wednesday that its US$18.5 billion GLNG project has shipped its second cargo of liquefied natural gas.
According to Gladstone port shipping data, LNG tanker Cool Voyager, with a capacity of 160,000 cbm, docked at the GLNG jetty to load the chilled gas on October 21.
The final destination of the Thenamaris-operated LNG vessel is currently unknown.
As reported before, the 155,000 cbm Yenisei River is also scheduled to dock at the LNG plant on Curtis island off Gladstone this week.
First GLNG cargo delivered
The first cargo produced at the 7.8 mtpa LNG plant on Curtis Island was shipped on board the MISC-operated Seri Bakti on October 16.
The 152,300 cbm LNG tanker unloaded the chilled gas at Kogas’ Pyeong Taek terminal in South Korea on Tuesday, Malaysia’s MISC said in a statement.
Second train to start production next year
The LNG plant on Curtis Island off Gladstone started producing the chilled gas from Train 1 in September this year.
According to Santos, work on the second train is continuing to progress, and it is expected to be ready for start-up by the end of the year with first LNG in the second quarter 2016.
Santos has a 30% interest in GLNG. Other co-venturers include Petronas (27.5%), Total (27.5%) and Kogas (15%).
