The ConocoPhillips-operated Australia Pacific LNG project is expected to produce its first LNG within the next month and ship the first cargo shortly after.
According to Origin Energy, which has a 37.5 percent in the LNG project on Curtis Island, the upstream part was 99 percent complete while the downstream part was 94% complete as at 30 September.
All gas processing trains at the LNG plant are mechanically complete, and 14 of the 15 gas processing trains have been commissioned, with the final train at Combabula progressing to schedule, Origin said in its quarterly production report.
“ Key activities in the final path to first cargo from Train 1 have now been completed. Mechanical runs have been completed on all six compressor units and Train 1 is in final commissioning stages ,” the company said in the report.
The APLNG project is a joint venture between ConocoPhillips , Origin, and Sinopec. The Curtis Island LNG facility will have two production trains with the ability to process up to 9 million tonnes per annum.
