Integral Consulting Inc. (Integral) will use ocean-depth sediment profile imaging (SPI)/plan view camera system to conduct baseline and post-disposal monitoring for a dredging and disposal project in Douglas Harbor, Alaska.

The company was awarded the subcontract by Western Marine Construction of Seattle, Washington, who is conducting the dredging, disposal, and capping for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Integral’s SPI/plan view camera system will be used to document benthic conditions in Douglas Harbor and at the nearby open-water disposal site prior to the dredging of approximately 40,000 cubic yards of contaminated sediments.

The SPI will then map the distribution of the dredged material following disposal at the disposal site. It will also monitor the placement of a sand cap over the dredged material.

Integral will conduct water quality monitoring and perform bottom grab sampling for analysis of sediment chemistry as part of the monitoring program.
