Houston-based LNG player Cheniere informed that its Corpus Christi liquefaction project in Texas is currently moving ahead of pace.
The company said in its filing to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission that during the month of September, engineering progressed to 82 percent with procurement progressing to 32 percent.
Bechtel, that is designing and building the facility designed for up to three liquefaction trains with a production capacity of approximately 13.5 million tons per annum, has kicked of construction in May this year and has reached 0.4 percent completion in the month of September.
Overall, Cheniere informed that the project progressed to 22.8 percent against a planned 18.8 percent.
Engineering has focused on finishing out 90 percent model reviews above ground piping isometrics for Train 2 and OSBL and has started updating design for permanent plant buildings.
Construction focused on progressing site prep work and beginning permanent plant earthworks. In the month of September, Bechtel completed excavation and mudmat for LNG tank A, tower crane foundations for LNG tank A, continued work at Bed 24, and continued excavation, rebar and concrete on electrical ductbanks.
