An unplanned outage at the UK’s South Hook liquefied natural gas terminal has cut gas flows to zero.
The outage began around 07:30 local time, on Friday with South Hook LNG company, the operator of the terminal not revealing how long the outage might last, Reuters reports.
According to the report, the outage prompted a rise in gas prices in Britain.
Before the outage occurred the terminal was pumping 40 million cubic meters of gas into the national transmission system per day.
Warm weather in Britain caused a drop in gas demand which was offset by the outage at UK’s largest LNG terminal located in Milford Haven.
