National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has organized an event to provide information for small businesses involved in US DoE’s SBV Pilot programme on how to best use NREL’s experience, capabilities, and testing infrastructure to advance their technologies.
On December 2, 2015, NREL is organizing an event that will see its experts in wind and water technology areas share knowledge about how NREL’s national lab assets can best contribute to SME’s goals.

Also, a tour of NREL’s National Wind Technology Center facilities will allow participants to see testing infrastructure and explore relevant application to their R&D challenges.
As reported earlier, DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is funding up to $20 million worth of vouchers to eligible small businesses as part of the SBV Pilot to help advance the clean energy economy.
These vouchers allow businesses to access world-class researchers, facilities and expertise at national laboratories across the country.
The $20 million funding has been allocated to the following Energy Department national laboratories: Oak Ridge National Laboratory, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
The chosen laboratories will focus on assisting small businesses to develop specific clean energy technologies in the following areas: advanced manufacturing, buildings, vehicles, wind, water, bioenergy, fuel cells, geothermal and solar.
Up to $2.2 million is available for products using waves, tides and waterways for environmentally safe power in voucher opportunity areas of marine and hydrokinetics, and hydropower.
