Mitsui O.S.K. Lines said a naming ceremony was held for the newly built LNG carrier at the Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan.

The vessel named LNG Jurojin is co-owned by MOL and Kansai Electric Power, the two companies said in a statement on Tuesday.

After delivery, the LNG Jurojin will serve several LNG transport projects, including the Inpex-operated Ichthys LNG project in Australia.

The carrier has a 155,300 cbm capacity and is the second of two newbuilds jointly owned by MOL and Kepco.

The first vessel, LNG Fukurokuju with a capacity of 165,134 cbm was built at Kawasaki Heavy Industries and will deliver LNG to Kepco from a range of projects including APLNG on Curtis Island near Gladstone.
