Civmec, a provider of engineering and construction services, has secured a contract for the fabrication of subsea jumper spools for Shell’s Prelude Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) Project.
The work involves fabrication of 17 subsea jumper spools and associated lifting equipment for Prelude FLNG.
Civmec was awarded the contract by French engineering giant Technip.
The work on the project will start immediately.
According to Shell, the Prelude FLNG facility will be 488m long and 74m wide, weighing more than 600,000 tonnes fully ballasted, and it will be Shell’s first deployment of its FLNG technology.
“The recent award, which adds to the list of contracts Civmec has already secured on the project, will be delivered by the oil and gas division,” the company said in a statement.
In September last year the company secured the contract for the supply, fabrication and testing of subsea components for Prelude FLNG project.
