Aberdeen-based IMES secured new contracts with Fugro and Harkand worth £750,000.

IMES has been awarded a three-year contract for the provision of lifting inspection services on behalf of Fugro, covering four vessels.

Second contract, secured from Harkand, is for the provision of lifting inspection, wire rope inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) services for a total of three vessels in Aberdeen and other UK ports.

Jason Smith, chief operating officer at IMES, said: “Despite the present challenging economic conditions, we are remaining upbeat about the year ahead. These latest strategic contract awards put us in a strong position to achieve our vision of becoming the leading subsea and marine company in our chosen sector and we are looking forward to further developing these relationships.

“We are delighted to have received these important contract awards in recognition of the capabilities of our team as well as the company’s reputation for providing an unrivalled level of service.”

Ewan Giles, business development manager at IMES, said: “We firmly believe that the company’s commitment to providing excellent customer service has been a major factor in our ability to attract and retain leading oil and gas businesses.

“With both of these latest contract awards, we had a solid working relationship with the client where we had previously demonstrated our knowledge and expertise which has since resulted in winning additional projects.”
