Norwegian drilling contractor, Norshore, has informed that its multi purpose drilling vessel Norshore Atlantic is performing well on its subsea decommissioning campaign Offshore Indonesia.

The vessel has been on contract for ConocoPhillips Indonesia for plug and abandonment of 3 wells since November 3, 2015.

According to the company, after the wrap-up of phase 1, a 18 3/4″ BOP will be installed on the Norshore Atlantic, after which it should carry on with the phase 2 of the P&A work.

The MT6022XL design, Norshore Atlantic, was delivered from the Batamec shipyard in March 2014.

The vessel is 115.4 meters long with beam of 28 meters. It can perform shallow and mid-water drilling of complete wells and subsea decommissioning (P&A). It is also designed for pre-drilling of top hole sections in deep water and well intervention operations with workover riser.

In addition, Norshore has been reported as being behind in paying parts of the charter hire for Atlantic due to challenging liquidity situation, however the company said that the situation has now improved and the payment will be made today November 16, 2015.
