The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has given Statoil consent to use the Edvard Grieg Oil Pipeline (EGOP).
The Edvard Grieg Oil Pipeline system has been designed and built to transport stabilised oil from the Edvard Grieg facility to the Grane Oil Pipeline (GOP), where the oil will be commingled and transported on to the Sture terminal.
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) recently gave its permission for the start-up of the Edvard Grieg oil pipeline and the Utsira High gas pipeline. These transport solutions will become part of the development of the Edvard Grieg and Ivar Aasen fields on the Utsira High in the North Sea.
The PSA also recently gave its consent to Lundin, the operator of the Edvard Grieg field, for the start-up and operation of Edvard Grieg platform which was followed by the NPD’s consent . The production i expected to start in November 2015.
The Edvard Grieg field is in the North Sea, 35 kilometres south of Grane and Balder. Water depth is around 110 metres.
The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has now granted consent to use the Edvard Grieg oil pipeline in accordance with Statoil’s application.
