Eastern Shipbuilding Group has launched the Multi-Purpose Service Vessel (MPSV) Harvey Sub-Sea for Harvey Gulf International Marine.
According to Eastern Shipbuilding’s announcement, the event was held on November 6, 2015, at its Allanton facility in Florida, U.S.A.
During the ceremony, Brian D’isernia, Eastern Shipbuilding’s CEO, told that the 103-meter-long Harvey Sub-Sea would be one of the most sophisticated MPSVs in service in the United States.
The vessel was designed by VARD Marine and it features a 250 MT AHC knuckle boom crane which lifts in 4000 meters of water. It is equipped with a helideck and accommodates a crew of 150.
The MPSV has a 7 x 7m moon pool and can power two 250 hp ROV systems which operate at up to 4000 meters of water depth.
Harvey Sub-Sea is the first of two MPSVs under construction at Eastern and is expected to be delivered in 2016, after outfitting and sea trials are completed.
Harvey Sub-Sea’s sister vessel, Harvey Blue-Sea, is also under construction.
