DOF Subsea has struck a deal to sell the vessel Skandi Inspector to an undisclosed international buyer.
Previously known as Tender Captain, Far Captain and Skandi Captain, the diving support vessel is approximately 81 meters long, equipped with SWL 50 ton offshore crane, has a 101 square meters ROV hangar and it’s fit to accommodate 64 people.
DW has highlighted the near-term ROV market challenges with weaker day rates and lower levels of utilisation for the work-class fleet.
The author, Antoine Paillat, believes we should see recovery later in the decade and this results in an overall compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.3% for ROV expenditure over the forecast period.
LSWE is set to deliver its first 15-man Single Bell Saturation Diving System complete with Surface Air Dive System to Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding for Tasik Subsea’s newbuild Subsea Operation Vessel “Tasik Toba”.
The Saturation Diving System can operate in water depths of up to 300 meters with a Surface Air Diving System capable of operating in water depths of 50 meters.
Lower activity levels and tough market conditions could force Norwegian contractor Reach Subsea to lay up two of its vessels.

Fugro has won a five-year contract for the provision of underwater services to Total E&P UK (TEP UK).
Under the contract, which runs from July 2015 and includes extension options for a further two years, Fugro is providing a full range of ROV services to conduct IMR activities on TEP UK pipelines, subsea assets and jackets.
