Dominion recently filed a report with FERC on the construction progress at its Cove Point liquefaction project in Calvert County, Maryland.
According to the filing to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, during the month of October, engineering reached 97 percent completion, procurement was 81 complete while construction was at 18 percent.
During this review period, work performed at the offsite area A was monitoring and maintaining of E&S controls to insure “proper environmental protection”.
There were 6 heavy haul equipment deliveries during the month of October at the offsite area B.
At the terminal, work continued on modifications to the existing plant in the areas of completion of various utilities reroutes/modifications and with the expansion joint replacement at the north jetty tunnel, tie-in scope, and north pier scope.
During October work was completed on forming, reinforcement, and placement of the foundations for MCHE, LNG pumps, mixed refrigerant separator, nitrogen stripper, amine tanks, sub-station columns, thermal oxidizer, and north gas turbine building. All sound wall columns have been installed with the exception of the posts at the entrance of the terminal.
Work scope also started or continued for installation of duct banks, underground fire water piping, cut/fill operations, setting sound wall panels, and ongoing E&S control measures. Work activities were performed on excavations, deep foundations, structure foundations, structural steel.
Erection of structural steel for the north/south liquefaction rack, north/south flare rack, HRSG common rack and air-cooled condenser (ACC) continued as well as the form, reinforce and concrete placement for the north & south combustion turbine buildings, south combustion turbine table top, propane shell and tube exchangers, and pumps.
