Three offshore workers went missing on Friday, following an accident on a Socar-operated oil and gas platform in the Oil Rocks field in the Caspian Sea.
The Azeri oil company said that the accident happened when a part of the platform with the living quarters collapsed into the sea, after a platform had been hit by strong waves due to a stormy weather.
According to information found on Socar’s website, a search and rescue operation is underway. A helicopter and three vessels have been deployed in the search for the missing men.
