MacArtney Provides ROV Winch for Antarctica Survey

Danmark’s MacArtney Underwater Technology has delivered an ROV winch for polar supply and research vessel S. A. Agulhas II which will take part in University of Gothenburg’s Antarctica expedition.

The electrically driven winch system (MERMAC R10 AHC ROV) was acquired through Swedish SubSea Solutions on the part of University of Gothenburg.

S. A. Agulhas II, designed to carry out scientific research and supply to South African research stations in Antarctica, will soon be heading to perform various underwater explorations.

MacArtney Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Hans-Jørgen Hansen , said: “MacArtney is very pleased to provide quality underwater technology to empower the important scientific ocean exploration that is undertaken by the University of Gothenburg and its marine science partners.”
