In cooperation with FKAB, HollandMT has successfully delivered a design for a spud lifting system to be used on a backhoe dredger.

The spud lifting system is powered by hydraulic winches which also allow free floating of the moored dredger.

To absorb shock loads during dredging operations, the spud trunks will be fitted with special rubber buffer elements.

The backhoe dredger will be self propelled, fitted with 3 spud lifting systems and carry a Liebherr 984C excavator or equivalent.

Expected delivery time of the backhoe is 3rd quarter 2016 and the main operating area for the backhoe will be North Africa.
