McDermott International, the Houston-based engineering, procurement, construction and installation company, shared an image on social media of the Derrick Lay Vessel 2000 as it was heading to the graving dock for a final coat of paint.

The 184-meter vessel is being built by Keppel Singmarine, Singapore. The Panama-flagged ship is currently being prepared to join McDermott’s fleet in the first quarter of 2016.

The DLV 2000 is a combination of a heavy lift and pipelay vessel with a 2.200-ton crane. It is DP3 dynamically positioned and has a deepwater S-Lay capability ranging from 4.5 to 60 inches. The vessel is intended for installation, maintenance and decommissioning projects.

According to McDermott, the DLV 2000 will be able to install pipelines at depths of up to 3000 meters.
