Jacksonville-based Crowley Maritime said it has taken delivery of the second of four LNG-ready product tankers from Philly Shipyard.

The 50,000 dwt, 330,000-barrel-capacity vessel named Texas, joins its sister ship Ohio that was delivered in October, Crowley said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Ohio was the first tanker to receive the American Bureau of Shipping’s LNG-Ready Level 1 approval, meaning it can be converted to liquefied natural gas propulsion in the future.

Delivery of the remaining two LNG-ready product tankers that are also being built by Philly Shipyard (former Aker Philadelphia Shipyard) is scheduled for 2016.

The 600-foot long Ohio is capable of carrying crude oil or refined petroleum products and, as its sister ships, it is based on the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard design.
