Qatari LNG heading for Belgium

Belguim’s LNG terminal in Zeebrugge is scheduled for a new delivery of Qatari LNG in January.

The Al Marrouna LNG tanker, with a capacity of 151,700 cubic meters departed from Qatari port of Ras Laffan on December 24 and is set to unload its cargo at the Zeebrugge terminal on January 12, shipping data reveals.

The 2006-built carrier will be the second vessel to unload LNG at the Zeebrugge terminal in 2016. The terminal mostly imports liquefied natural gas from Qatar has an annual throughput capacity of nine billion cubic meters of natural gas.

The Fluxys-operated terminal is currently undergoing expansion with the construction of the fifth tank that will have the capacity to store 180,000 cbm of LNG and the addition of the second jetty which will be able to receive carriers with an LNG capacity of between 2,000 and 217,000 cbm.
