The United States Federal Energy Regulatory Commission informed it has opened a scoping period seeking input on the proposed onshore pipeline and related facilities for the Delfin LNG project.
Together with the Coast Guard, FERC is conducting an environmental review of the proposed offshore liquefied natural gas deepwater port and associated pipeline facilities, including about 1.1 mile of onshore pipeline and aboveground facilities in Cameron parish, Louisiana, the regulator said in its filing.
The offshore section of the project is under the jurisdiction of the Coast Guard and the Maritime Administration.
The scoping period is open due to a change in Delfin LNG’s application regarding the proposed aboveground facilities, and FERC informed it will close on January 28, 2016.
LNG engineer Bechtel has been selected to perform the front-end engineering and design for the floating LNG vessel which will be moored at a deepwater port approximately 50 miles off the coastline of Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
The proposed initial export capacity of the facility will be 8 mtpa of LNG with an option to be expanded to 13 mtpa, depending on the marked conditions.
