LaNaval Shipyard recently laid the keel for an LNG-powered offshore multipurpose vessel for DEME’s unit, Tideway.

The vessel, named Living Stone, will be equipped with a fall-pipe and rock installation system as well as a cable/umbilical loading and installation facilities with subsea construction capabilities, LaNaval said in a statement.

The vessel will have dual fuel engines with the capacity to run on liquefied natural gas.

LaNaval and Tideway signed the construction deal in January 2015. The vessel is set to be launched during the summer 2016 and it is expected to be delivered within the first half of 2017.
