Royal IHC has named and launched Subsea 7’s 550t pipelaying vessel, Seven Cruzeiro, at its shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel, The Netherlands.
The naming ceremony was performed by Sally Rosa, wife Subsea 7 CFO Ricardo Rosa.
The Seven Cruzeiro is the last of four vessels in total, ordered by Subsea 7, for operation in Brazilian waters.
As reported earlier, the three PLSVs, the Seven Rio, Seven Sun and Seven Cruzeiro, linked to long-term contracts awarded by Petrobras, are expected to be delivered in 2015 and 2016.
The Seven Waves is another pipelaying vessel, which was delivered earlier in 2015, and is now in service with Petrobras.
With an overall length of 146 metres, a beam of 30 metres and a Class-2 dynamic positioning system, these vessels will be equipped for transporting and installing flexible flowlines and umbilicals in water depths of up to 3,000 metres.
Seven Sun Named
In addition, the Seven Sun, launched on December 19, 2014 in Kinderdijk was officially named today by Lilian Camozzato, wife of Guilherme Camozzato, director of operations, Subsea 7 Brazil.
