Statoil to Present Hywind Scotland Project in Peterhead

To provide local communities with information about the Hywind Scotland Pilot Park, Statoil will hold a public exhibition on 20 January in Peterhead.

2015 Huge for Wind Power in Scotland

Following a record final month, 2015 proved to be a “huge year” for wind power in Scotland, with wind turbines providing enough electricity to meet the electrical needs of 97% of Scottish households, according to the data gathered by WeatherEnergy and analyzed by WWF Scotland.

Vattenfall Targets Subsidy-Free Offshore Wind by 2025

Swedish utility Vattenfall expects its offshore wind projects to be competitive enough so as not to need any more government subsidies by 2025, the company’s head of strategic projects in wind industry Michael Simmelsgaard was reported by Reuters Africa as saying.

The Danish Maritime Authority (DMA) has had a report drawn up that maps the regulations and industry standards applicable to maritime operations in the offshore wind sector of Denmark, the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands.

CG to Power Kriegers Flak

CG, an Avantha Group company, has been awarded a contract from Denmark’s electricity transmission system operator Energinet.dk to provide power transformers and Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) for the Kriegers Flak wind farm project in the Baltic Sea.
