Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard – part of United Shipbuilding Corporation – has just announced that the launching ceremony for the 1000 m³ trailing suction hopper dredger ‘Sommers’ will be held on January 29th 2016.
The dredger comes as the first in a series of three TSHD 1000 vessels that the shipyard is building for FSUE “Rosmorport”.
The newbuilds, to be equipped with the necessary high-dredging equipment, suitable for the climatic conditions of the region, will be stationed at seaports of Ust-Luga, Big Port St. Petersburg and Port of Tuapse.
All three vessels will have an outboard multifunctional submersible groundwater pump type “DOP 200”.

Delivery of the three THSDs, (Sommers, Kronshlot and Kadosh) has been set for 2016 and 2017, respectively.
