Atlantas Marine has completed ROV inspection work on the semi-submersible “Heydar Aliyev” rig in the Caspian Sea, offshore Azerbaijan.

The rig is currently working with BP Exploration (Shah Deniz) in the Shah Deniz field in the Caspian Sea.

The Heydar Aliyev rig is designed for year-round operations at water depths from 40m to 1,000m (147ft to 3,280ft).

Atlantas Marine engineer and ROV pilot Mark Salter deployed the VideoRay Pro 4 ROV to inspect a weld joint that measured 20 meters by 2 meters.

The work follows on from inspection work that Atlantas performed on the same area of interest 12 months ago.
