Swansea-based wave energy developer, Marine Power Systems (MPS), has been selected as finalist for the St David Award for Innovation and Technology.

The St David Awards annually recognise and celebrate the exceptional achievements of people in Wales. The Innovation and Technology category is intended for an individual, group or research team in Wales which has developed techniques or solutions that meet new requirements and provided more effective products, processes, services, technologies, or ideas that are available to society at large.

MPS was founded in 2009 with the purpose of developing and commercializing its WaveSub wave energy converter technology.

WaveSub quarter-scale device will be tested at FaBTest, a test area situated 2.8 square km within Falmouth harbor, in 2016.

The awards ceremony will take place at Senedd, Cardiff, on March 10, 2016.
