Clinton Marine Survey in cooperation with AquaBiota Water Research has completed a survey of the Bratten area, located in Skagerack which contains the largest depth in Sweden.

The assignment which comprised charting of a 1206 km2 area was performed during December and January on behalf of Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management.

According to Clinton, the deepest point in Swedish waters has a preliminary depth of 560m.

The final depth will be confirmed after the survey results have been verified by the Swedish Maritime Administration, which is expected to take about a month.

Anders Wikmar from Clinton Marine Survey, said: “We are pleased that the survey has been completed despite marginal weather conditions. The survey has been conducted using the multibeam echo sounders EM2040 and EM710 from Kongsberg which have provided a very high resolution and accuracy despite the large depth in the area.”
